Brian Albriton was born March 27, 1951 in Los Angeles, California
and became totally blind at twenty-two months old. Since
childhood, he has always had an interest in the blues as well as
country music and is clearly fascinated by the guitar. He has been
working for Braille Institute Library in Los Angeles as a
reader/advisor since 1982, sending out Braille and talking books to
people who call every day.
Denise Albriton maiden name Denise Avery, was born in Port Angeles,
Washington November 14, 1951 and has been totally blind since
birth. Her first exposure to Spanish was from Radio Havana, just
after the October, 1962 missle crisis. It was love at first touch
when her grandmother, a second grade school teacher, brought an
autoharp home to show Denise when she was in the fourth grade.
Denise graduated from University of California Berkeley, with a
B.A. in Spanish as her major was Spanish. She studied her Junior
year in Mexico City at the Museum of Anthropology. She travelled
to Cuba in July, 1978 as a tourist, at the time the Carter
Administration relaxed its travel restrictions to Cuba. Denise has
been working for an agency of the Federal Government since April
10, 1977.
Brian and Denise were married Valentine's Day in Las Vegas in the
year 1998 and the musical blend has been simply marvelous.
